About Kozzmik.com

This site was born in 2006 and was the first web site I ever created. It's purpose was only to serve as a place to learn some web tools I had gained access to, specifically Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and Xara 3D. It took about a week to create and place all of the main elements, and maybe another week to implement the databases. the music database was created by Media Monkey, and the movie database, by a script for Movie Collector, which I modified quite a bit. I also wrote quite a bit of Javascript that controls some obvious, and some not so obvious, functions on the front page. I keep it around now just as a place to entertain myself by experimenting with new web development technologies, or whatever else crosses my mind.

The name of the site is a play on the name of the first computer I ever built. It was called the Cosmac Elf, and was the feature article of the August 1976 issue of Popular Electronics. It captured my imagination, and the next thing I knew, 20 years of electronics and software design had flashed by. The name also reflects my lifelong passion for Astronomy and Astrophysics. It has become my default online identity, but most people just call me Kozz.
